Jennifer MacPherson lives in Syracuse, NY where she is Senior Editor of The Comstock Review. In the Mixed Gender of the Sea is her sixth full-length collection. Pudding House published her Greatest Hits in 2000 and a chapbook, Stuck in Time, in 2002. Published collections are To Attempt A Tower, Another Use for Husbands, Cute & Perky, Slim & Sexy: A Poet’s Guide to Personal Ads, As They Burn the Theater Down. Her fifth full collection, A Nickel Tour of the Soul, is just out from FootHills.
A retired school psychologist, her work has recently appeared in Poetry International, Louisiana Literature, and The Connecticut Review, and is forthcoming in South Carolina Review, The MacGuffin, and Pearl. In 1993, she was named Syracuse's first Poetry Slam Champion. When away from her own poems, she can be found working for The Comstock Review, facilitating writing groups, whipping up gourmet feasts in the kitchen, or playing with her Burmese cats, Tillie and Muffit.
